I think philanthropy is the best and safest place to convene together private interest and public institutions, because we are in the middle. People used to talk about the idea of the Private Public Partnership, the three Ps – I would like to add another P for philanthropy. How do you want to see philanthropy develop? The corporate sector is also pushing towards philanthropy so I think it’s a special moment to recognise that philanthropy is not just something good to have, but is a key actor in public welfare.
